Ramp pickups, FBO etiquette and why Europe's busiest business airport rewards travellers with a chauffeur who knows the hangars.
Where Paris does business at 200 km/h
Paris–Le Bourget (LBG) is Europe's leading business aviation airport, about 12 km north of central Paris. It has no airline flights: everything that lands there is a private or business jet, handled by a fixed-base operator (FBO) rather than a passenger terminal. For every executive, family office or delegation arriving there, the journey to the meeting starts on the apron — and first impressions are set before the car door closes.
How a Le Bourget arrival works
Your aircraft parks at its FBO. Passengers clear passport control inside the FBO lounge, usually in minutes, and walk straight out to the vehicle. There are no arrivals hall, no taxi rank and no kerbside chaos — which is precisely why the ground transfer has to be organised in advance. Your chauffeur needs the tail number, the FBO name and the estimated arrival time, and coordinates with the handling agent so the car is in position when you step out.
Ramp access is a skill
Meeting a business jet is not like meeting an airliner. Depending on the FBO and the security arrangements of the day, the vehicle is either admitted airside to the aircraft or waits at the FBO's landside door. Either way, your chauffeur is briefed on the procedure, luggage is transferred by the handling team, and you are moving within minutes of engines off. It is a short choreography that an unbriefed driver turns into a long wait at the gate.
How long into Paris
Le Bourget to central Paris takes about 25 to 35 minutes off-peak via the A1, and 45 to 60 minutes at rush hour or when the périphérique is saturated. The Golden Triangle hotels of the 8th, Place Vendôme and the Left Bank are all within that window; La Défense is about 30 to 45 minutes. Your chauffeur plans the route on live traffic, not a GPS estimate.
What it costs
A private transfer from Le Bourget to any Paris address starts from €110 in a Mercedes E-Class, €130 in a V-Class and €160 in an S-Class, per vehicle and all-inclusive. Le Bourget to Charles de Gaulle starts from €100 — useful when a jet connects with a long-haul airline departure. All Paris fares are on our rates page.
Choosing the vehicle
For one to three passengers, an S-Class or Maybach is the usual choice for principals; a V-Class takes up to seven with luggage, and a Sprinter handles crews and delegations. For larger parties we run several vehicles in convoy with a coordinator, so the principal leaves first and the rest of the party and the luggage follow without delay.
The Golden Triangle shuffle
A single Paris day often means five or six stops: La Défense, a private bank near Place Vendôme, lunch in the 8th, a showroom in the Marais, back to the airport. Booking the car and chauffeur by the hour turns a fragmented diary into one continuous loop — see Paris chauffeur by the day. The chauffeur waits at each address, keeps luggage and documents secure in the car, and adapts when meetings overrun.
Fashion weeks, air show and roadshows
Le Bourget is busiest during Paris fashion weeks, results and roadshow seasons, and above all in June of odd-numbered years, when the Paris Air Show takes over the airport. Vehicles are scarce in those weeks: book as early as your schedule allows, and give us the tail number as soon as it is known.
Departing from Le Bourget
For departures we pick you up at your hotel or office with a margin for traffic, drop you directly at the FBO, and can hand your luggage to the handling team. If your departure time moves, tell your chauffeur on WhatsApp — the plan adjusts.
